Stocks

What is Stock?

In the share market, a stock represents ownership in a company. When you buy a stock, you are buying a small piece of that company. Companies issue stocks as a way to raise money for their business operations and growth. As a stockholder, you have the right to a portion of the company’s assets and earnings, and you may also have a say in certain company decisions through voting rights. The value of a stock can fluctuate based on various factors such as the company’s performance, market conditions, and investor sentiment. Investors buy and sell stocks in the share market with the goal of making a profit from price changes or earning dividends, which are a portion of a company’s profits distributed to shareholders.
